What is the Cosmelan Peel?
Skin hyperpigmentation is caused by abnormal production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour, and is a consequence of uncontrolled, localized overproduction of melanin by the melanocytes, causing irregular skin colouration and dark spots.
Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation method that has an intensive corrective effect on skin hyperpigmentations whilst regulating the overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes, inhibiting and controlling the appearance of new dark spots.

Step 1: Consultation
The first step towards your treatment is a bespoke consultation with our Treatment Coordinator. During this informal chat which can be done virtually or in the clinic, we will take a look at your medical history to rule out any possible contraindications. This is also a great time to ask us any questions you may have – we always answer honestly and openly.

Step 2: During your treatment
Cosmelan is a complete method that involves a single session.
The session entails the professional applying the Cosmelan 1 face mask which is then left to work for 8 to 12 hours, according to the phototype and sensitivity of the skin to be treated. After this time has elapsed the mask is removed at home.
An after care kit will be provided and you will be instructed on when and how to remove the mask at home.
With your skin feeling fresher and healthier, we’ll give you a light detoxifying and draining facial massage. This is deeply relaxing and uses special techniques to maximise the effectiveness of the products used during this facial.
Finally, we use LED light therapy because it is proven to have an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory healing effect on the skin, which should reduce any signs of redness.

Step 3: After the treatment
48 hours later, the follow-up phase in your home is started with the application of the Cosmelan 2, hydra-vital factor K cream and the moisturizing sun protection SPF50+.
This follow-up phase is carried out for 7 months to achieve an optimal result and prevent the reappearance of spots.
Who is a Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel for?
This Peel is for clients with severe hyperpigmentation caused by hormonal factors such as pregnancy, contraceptive pills, sun damage, pigmentation caused by ageing or clients who are suffering from melasma.
When will I see the results?
Results can be seen after one, complete treatment. For a deeper pigmentation, a top-up treatment may be required after one year.
Is a Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel painful?
The Cosmelan Peel is not painful. Patients report a brief stinging sensation immediately as the peel is applied, although this lasts only a few minutes.
Are there after-effects?
Peeling, a little redness and irritation can be expected initially.
