Lactic Acid belongs to a group of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) known for their anti-ageing properties. This peel is ideal for addressing issues such as hyperpigmentation, age spots, large pores and a dull, dehydrated complexion. Where it stands apart from other AHA-based peels is that lactic acid is much gentler on the skin, making it suitable for sensitive skin.

This peel contains 15% L-lactic Acid and papaya enzymes for better exfoliation, making it particularly superb for treating hyperpigmentation. This is a gentle treatment for sensitive or reactive skin, including rosacea. Azeliac acid regulates oil production in your skin, softens it and treats areas of hyperpigmentation. It also inhibits the future over-production of melanin that can cause dark spots and blemishes. TREATMENT STEP BY STEP

During your initial consultation, we will review and discuss your medical history to identify any contraindications. You will also be able to discuss your skincare concerns in detail so that we can help you identify the best peel for your needs. This is the perfect time to ask any questions you may have; we pride ourselves on giving open and honest answers.

Step 2DURING YOUR TREATMENT

Your skin peel procedure will involve applying a specially selected liquid to your skin using a soft brush. This liquid is designed to target your individual skin requirement. After the liquid is applied, it is left on your skin for a short period of time before it is removed. It may cause a slight stinging sensation, depending on the formulation. As the dead and damaged skin cells are removed, the peel will stimulate collagen production to leave you with healthy, glowing skin.

The peel is then (depending on the type of peel) is followed by an LED light therapy treatment.

The skin peels for sensitive and/or reactive skin tend to be gentle but effective.

Step 3AFTER THE TREATMENT

After your peel, your skin may feel tight for some time, depending on the strength of the treatment. This should ease within a few hours for light to medium peels, but may take several days – including some soreness and peeling – for deeper peels.

What do peels for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin feel like?

Most of the sensitive skin peels are completely pain-free, and in fact are a nice and comfortable treatment. With some peels more advanced peels, you may experience a slight stinging or burning sensation during the procedure. Your skin is likely to feel tight for a few hours/days post-treatment, depending on which peel you have.

How do I decide which skin peel is right for me?

You may have an idea of the peel that youe would like to have, however we recommend that you have a detailed consultation with one of our Aestheticians before your treatment to decide whether you are suitable for this treatment and if so which peel would be the best for your skin. Our consultation includes an analysis of your skin and an in-depth conversation about your individual skincare concerns. This is especially important if you have sensitive or reactive skin.

Are peels safe?

Light and medium peels are safe treatments. That said, our aestheticians are highly trained to ensure that the correct peel is used for the right condition, significantly minimising the possibility of any reactions. Your health and safety always come first.

Will you recommend any homecare products afterwards?

For the best results, it’s a good idea to maintain a good skin care routine in between your skin peels at the clinic. Your Aesthetician will discuss your needs with you and will be able to help you choose the best products for your skin type. This may also include products that you are required to use prior to the peel to prepare your skin for the treatment.
