Laser Hair Removal – Say NO to Unwanted HairBody 03 Dec 2017
Laser hair removal is an excellent treatment for men and women who want a permanent solution to unwanted hair. It has always been associated with pain, however with the arrival of Soprano ICE – the latest innovation in hair removal technology – pain is the thing of the past!
This multi-award-winning laser hair removal system uses diode and alexandrite lasers that are specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, more comfortably, and with fewer visits on all skin types including dark and tanned skin.
At Aesthetics Lab we know how confusing information on laser hair removal can be so in this article we outline the most frequent questions clients ask us:
How does laser hair removal work?
The pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser light. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells. The hair follicle loses its ability to grow once it has been disabled.
What is the difference between IPL and Laser hair removal?
The laser produces a single spectrum of intensely concentrated pure light in one colour and wavelength, whereas IPL provides a broad spectrum of colours and wavelengths and it is not possible to focus the light energy to a concentrated beam. As a result, the laser precisely targets the dark pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle; while IPL’s diffused energy does not only target the melanin in the hair follicle, but also the surrounding skin.
Thus, IPL can reduce and slow down hair regrowth but not permanently remove hair unlike laser, which allows for very deep, more powerful and precise penetration, achieving permanent results.
Is Soprano Ice Laser hair removal really painless?
The Soprano ICE is a state of the art procedure; the laser gradually heats the hair follicle whilst the headpiece is passed over the same area constantly, thus not causing any pain. It feels like a hot stone massage.
